A
list of the prices of the precursors needed for the synthesis of the
catalyst is given in Table 5, based on current prices of the Aldrich
company available on the producer website. Only the cost of materials
was taken into account. In order to calculate the real cost the cost
of labour, installation, energy, transportation etc. must be
additionally included. The most cost-effective catalyst was
CoCuZnLa-CM. The high price of gallium and ruthenium makes other
catalysts not attractive for industrial use.
